Psychiatry. He has worked on various national and international projects related to Ageing and Disorders of Ageing and contributed well to the field of neuroimaging. He has been carrying out research on multiple modalities of neuroimaging including structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) as well as magnetoencephalography (MEG) in disorders of ageing, specifically early Alzheimer’s dementia (AD) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). He has got his research work published in various national and international indexed journals of repute including American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, Brain Imaging and Behavior and Brain connectivity etc.Moreover, he has also received national and international travel grants on multiple occasions to present his research. Himanshu is a vital cog in the Multimodal Brain Image Analysis Laboratory (MBIAL) as well as Geriatric Clinic research team and has diligently completed important assignments related to analysis of MRI, MEG as well as neuropsychological data. He has adequate experience in working with programming languages using cluster computing.He has designed a novel task based cognitive paradigm for administration in patients with AD and MCI during fMRI and MEG acquisitions. He is trained in performing neuropsychological assessments and recruitment of patients from the Geriatric Clinic and Services (GCS). He also holds interests in developing novel peer teaching and learning strategies focusing on fundamentals of neuroscience.

Thereafter, she pursued a fellowship in Psychiatric Rehabilitation at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) between 2018 and 2019. She is also a Diplomate of the National Board of Education, New Delhi. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Clinical Neurosciences from NIMHANS since 2019 and is working as a Clinician Scientist in India ENIGMA Initiative for Global Aging and Mental Health since April 2023. Her areas of expertise and interest include mental health rehabilitation, geriatric psychiatry, neurocognitive disorders, and non-invasive brain stimulation in neurocognitive disorders.

She is fascinated by the study of complex human behaviour and patterns, especially in how they translate into having a positive impact in people's lives. She was drawn to the uncharted potential of Neuroimaging studies in integrating both her interests and her multidisciplinary academic background in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science and Technology. Presently, her primary endeavors revolve around exploring brain morphometry and functional connectivity across sexes in the healthy aging population. Her overarching objective is to bridge the gap between fundamental research and practical applications, particularly in the realm of brain-machine interface systems. She actively indulges in literature, sports, art, and music, apart from her academic pursuits, to develop an enriching and well-rounded perspective towards science and life!

Prior to that she completed PG Diploma in counselling psychology in 2019.She has done her post-graduation in MSW from Loyola College of Social Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Currently, she serves as a Junior Research Fellow on Psycho-Social Aspectsin India ENIGMA Initiative for Global Aging and Mental Health since April 2023. Her area of interest lies in working with children, adolescents, and geriatric populations offering support and therapeutic intervention.

Her interests revolve around neurobiology, genetics, and developmental biology, and a growing passion towards neuroimaging. At the ENIGMA INDIA Aging program, she looks forward to gaining invaluable knowledge from a multi-faceted approach towards Alzheimer's disease research, and she hopes to contribute to the work done here. She also loves writing, literature, movies, and dance. She is also an author, under the Prime Minister's YUVA scheme!

With hands-on experience spanning lab research, microbiological analysis, and scientific editing, she brings both precision and creativity to her work. She has a knack for turning complex ideas into meaningful impact, whether through data, content, or collaboration, and is particularly fascinated by neuroscience—especially the ways bioinformatics can be leveraged to better understand the brain.

Outside the lab, she has always been involved in photography and now especially loves the medium of film. She has a deep love for the outdoors and enjoys activities like hiking. She also enjoys baking and singing constantly exploring creative ways to express and connect

Currently, she is working on dissecting the genetic overlap between neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. At India-ENIGMA Ageing program, she aims to understand the genetic heterogeneity of Alzheimer's disease (AD) which makes a set of people vulnerable or resilient towards the disease progression from Mild Cognitive Impairment to mild AD and then to AD.  She will study AD heterogeneity by employing genetic & epigenetic tools like Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS), miRnome & global methylation analysis.

Additionally, he helps in managing the records and administrative functions of the lab. He is a cricket enthusiast and also loves music as well as staying updated with current affairs.

She is a junior research fellow on clinical aspects in India ENIGMA Initiative for Global Ageing and Mental Health. She is also pursuing her PhD  from NIMHANS where her main focus is on elderly caregivers. Her area of interest lies in working with elderly population, dementia patients, and caregivers of dementia patients

and supports dementia research through community screening and awareness programs. He has previously worked with National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research, ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, and Karnataka Health Promotion Trust in public health research and counseling programs.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Calicut. She is currently pursuing her PhD at NIMHANS. She has a keen interest in working with real-world data and applying statistical methods to derive meaningful insights in clinical and public health research. Her areas of interest include longitudinal data analysis, mediation analysis, multivariate techniques, causal inference, Survival analysis and high-dimensional data analysis.

Outside the lab, she is passionate about rescuing animals and enjoys watching crime documentaries—interests that reflect her curiosity, empathy, and sharp analytical mindset. She is committed to continuous learning and contributing to better healthcare outcomes.

Currently, she serves as a Junior Research Fellow for the Clinical Aspects. Her work focuses on assessing and understanding the cognitive and clinical aspects of mental health in ageing populations.
Her primary areas of interest include neurological disorders with psychiatric sequelae, with a particular focus on paediatric and geriatric populations. She is interested in bridging research and clinical practice to strengthen evidence-based neuropsychology. Her broader research interests include affective neuroscience, surgical neuropsychology, psychoneuroimmunology, cognitive stimulation and neuromodulation.

He worked in the Transitional Health Science and Technology Institute under the Department of Biotechnology from Dec 2022 to Dec 2024 in the field of Omics Technologies. He gained experience in Untargeted Metabolomics and Lipidomics through High-throughput instruments – High Resolution Mass spectrometry. He is working in the Gut – Brain axis, Whole genome Metagenome Sequencing, Biomarker discovery, Fatty acid Profiling, SCFAs Quantification with the help of High Generation sequencing, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS.

Her research interests focus on neurobiology and the molecular mechanisms underlying  Alzheimer’s disease.

Her current work involves investigating blood-based neurochemical biomarkers associated with Alzheimer’s disease, with a focus on identifying peripheral indicators that may support early diagnosis and disease monitoring. She works with advanced ultrasensitive detection platforms such as Simoa (Single Molecule Array) to study circulating biomarkers related to neurodegeneration. Through her involvement in the ENIGMA INDIA Aging program, she looks forward to gaining valuable insights from multidisciplinary approaches to Alzheimer’s disease research and contributing to advancing biomarker-based diagnostic strategies.
